Opal Virginia Spann Almond, age 88 years, of Bull Shoals relocated to her heavenly home on May 29, 2020. She was born on Wednesday, June 24, 1931 in Little Rock the daughter of Clinton Dewitt Spann, Sr. and Lula Gentry Spann. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jimmy Almond, her parents and two loving sisters, Geneva Davenport and Lucille Lambert. She was also preceded in death by Chester Almond, the father of Dale, Ronnie and Jimmy. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Almond, two sons, Dale Almond and Ronnie Almond, one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Ashley and C.M. Blasdell, one very special great-grandson, Mason Blasdell and one grandson, Matthew Almond, and one great-granddaughter Aimslee Almond, one sister and brother-in-law, Jessie & Zack Gray, one brother and sister-in-law, Clinton Dewitt Spann, Jr. (Dee) and Gerry Spann and a host of other family members and friends. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale, Arkansas. Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Jacob Dickinson and the nurses at Baxter Regional Center and Hospice of the Ozarks, Mountain Home, Arkansas for their excellent and compassionate care of Opal during her short stay there. Due to covid-19, we will have a private family graveside service with Brother Roy Lee Polk officiating. We will be following all strict safety measures, including face masks and safe distancing.
