Richard "Ricky" Alvin Simmons Jr., 58, of Little Rock, Ark. was born September 4, 1961, and passed May 27, 2020. Ricky graduated from Oak Grove High School, NLR, Ark. in 1979, where he was a stellar athlete and honor student. He was a triple threat; excelling in football, basketball and track. He continued his higher education at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Ricky committed his faith to Christ and was baptized by Rev. R.K. Young, Sr. at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Little Rock. As an adult, Ricky joined and became an active member at Hoover United Methodist Church. Ricky was the first born son of Richard Alvin Simmons Sr. and Phyllis Hollingsworth Simmons of Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathryn and Eustace Hollingsworth and his father, Richard Alvin Simmons Sr. He will be lovingly cherished in memories by his beautiful daughters, Karrington, Peyton, Blake and Blaire, parents Rev. T. B. & Phyllis Lamb Sr, his partner in life Tiffany DeMarco. His brothers: Richard (Patricia) Simmons, Phillip Simmons, Mitchell Simmons, Malcolm (Vickii) Simmons, Mark (Naoko) Simmons, Thurston (Wakita) Lamb Jr., and his sisters: Suzanne (Oscar) Ornelas, Rev. Tameka (Rev. Kelly) Green, Shannon (Gilbert) McCauley, Monita (Elbert) Thomas and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, friends and acquaintances. In a private service, Ricky's celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2020, at Watson-Northcrest Funeral Home Chapel, North Little Rock. The service is in entrusted to Willis Funeral Home of McGehee, Ark.
