Mary McCarty Allen

Mary McCarty Allen, 66, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was born February 2, 1954 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Betty and Walter McCarty. She earned a master's degree in early childhood education at the Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was a teacher for 30 years. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rick Allen; two sons, Jeffrey Allen of Sherwood, Arkansas and Brooks Allen of Benton, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Caden Allen, Cambree Allen and Abby Allen; four nieces, Stephanie Brandon, Holly Knox, Barbie Boschert and Kelly McCarty; three nephews, Chris McCarty, Matt McCarty and Bill Phillips; a host of grand nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dalt McCarty and Alan McCarty; two sisters. Betty Phillips and Diane Anderson. A graveside memorial service for Mary McCarty Allen will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena, Arkansas.
