LAWRENCE EVERETT PAUL of Little Rock passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Larry was born in America, Illinois on July 9, 1937 to Edna (Jackson) and Lawrence C. Paul. He graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1955. On February 4, 1961, he married the love of his life, Frances "Judean" Blankenship. Together they raised two wonderful sons, Bradley Stephen and Clayton Brian. Larry was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the 489th Engineer Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was the consummate salesman. He spent most of his career selling corrugated boxes for Tate Containers, Lamb and Associates, and retired from Alpha Packaging Inc. He was known for being punctual, reliable, honest and professional. He enjoyed cooking on the grill while listening to good jazz and the blues, watching the Razorbacks and Cowboys play, working in the yard, and woodworking. His all-time favorite hobby was dancing with his sweetheart Judean any chance they got – stealing the show on any dance floor. When his first grandson, Austin, was born, Larry was given the title of "Big." The name fit him perfectly. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and served as the official "cookie taster" when they would bake for the holidays with their Grand (Judean). He never failed to tell them how proud he was of all of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Judean and daughter-in-law, Marcy Thompson Paul. He will be greatly missed by sons, Brad and Clay; daughter-in-law, Anita; grandchildren, Austin, Brennan, Evan and Camron Paul; his little sister, Marilyn Paul and numerous extended family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Brett Ironside; Tamara Walters; the wonderful staff at Stonehaven Assisted Living who loved and cared for Larry, including Reyna, Susan, Lisa and Kristen; and the staff and residents at House of Three: Barbara, Dakotah, Kathy, Ashley, Mrs. Russell and Ralph. A lifelong Catholic, Larry was a member of the Cathedral of St. Andrew. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, March 4 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. with a rosary following. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Andrew with Msgr. Lawrence A. Frederick presiding. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cathedral of St. Andrew, 617 Louisiana Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
