Trudy Keel

Trudy Keel, age 86, of Heber Springs, Ark., passed away March 28, 2020. Born on June 12, 1933 in Ingleside, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Gladys Spencer Keel and John Peyton Keel. Trudy was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She was a graduate of Newport High School. She went on to graduate from Stephens College and Louisiana State University. Trudy was an avid golfer and at one time played on the Pro Women's Golf Tour. She taught golf at Palos Verdes High School for many years. She returned to Heber Springs to buy Heber Springs Marina. She was a vibrant, generous, beautiful lady who was passionate about life. She learned to pilot a Cessna airplane and loved it. She was an animal lover, but most importantly she loved her family and friends. She is survived by two sisters Mary Kay Henry and Pat Holk of Heber Springs, Ark., two brothers John Keel and his wife Sam of Tulsa, Okla., and Frank Keel and his wife Linda of Goodyear, Ariz. Ms. Keel is also survived by her several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a lifetime of friends. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. A memorial service for her family and friends will be held at a later date.
