Bobbie Gene Burrow

Mr. Bobbie Gene Burrow, resident of Augusta, departed this life on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Woodruff County Health Center at the age of 92. Bob was born in Fitzhugh on July 20, 1928, the son of Ben Burrow, Sr. and Gussie (Griffin) Burrow. Mr. Burrow enlisted in the United States Army in 1946. He served as a Military Policeman during the Korean Conflict, assisted in the construction of the Augusta Armory upon his return to Woodruff County, and went on to become an instructor at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock for several years. Mr. Burrow was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Burrow; parents; a daughter, Joy Brown; four brothers, Ben, Jr., Tommy, Paul, and Hoyle Burrow; and a sister, Forrestine Taggart. He is survived by two sons, Michael and Robert Burrow; two sisters, Bette Colbert and Pat Hargrove; three grandchildren, and Amber Macedonio; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Augusta First Baptist Church with Brother Jason Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow in Fakes Cemetery in McCrory. Visitation is 1 p.m. to service time. Arrangements by Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory.
