James Howard Griffey, Jr.

James Howard Griffey, Jr. was born on March 6, 1949, in Memphis, Tenn., and passed away on November 18, 2020. Jimmy served his country from 1969-1970 in Vietnam, and returned to make his home in Cabot, Ark. Jimmy's worldly sensibilities and magnetic wit were often the glue holding conversations and relationships together. Everyone who knew him agrees he made the world a much happier place. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Howard Griffey, Sr. and Jacqueline Alva Griffey of Cabot; paternal grandparents, John Amos Griffey and Beulah Marie Griffey of Little Rock; and maternal grandparents, Otis Jett and Mary Kinnaird Jett of Memphis. He is survived by his sister, Marita Upton, of Cabot; his nephew, Chris Sederstrom, of Minneapolis; and many good friends.
