Oma Louise Quinn, age 94, passed from this life into her Heavenly home Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Salem Place Nursing and Rehab Center in Conway. She was born July 16, 1926 in Roland, Arkansas to the late Virgil Whitt and Cassie Williams Whitt. She was a member of Beebe First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Odell Quinn; brothers, Virgil Whitt Jr., Aubrey Whitt, Ray Whitt; sisters Kay Grice, Phyllis Ryles, and Virginia Lee Cruse. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Ronnie Quinn (Chris) of Conway, Tony Quinn (Becky) of Conway, Vicki Smith (Howard) of Forrest City and Karen Wisdom (Chuck) of Beebe; brothers: Larry Whitt (Marilyn), Russell Whitt (Lawanda) and Wayne Whitt (Sue); sister, Lynda Mackey and sister-in-law, Lita Whitt; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchild. Oma was the daughter of a sharecropper and his child bride. She helped raise her siblings and then married and started her own family. She was active in the Extension Service Home Demonstration Club. Oma became a wonderful mother to four children and even better grandma to her 8 grandkids -- and so many other children she provided care for in her home. She kept 3 of her grandchildren before they started to school and two lived with her for a time during their college years. Besides childcare in her home, she cooked in schools and businesses, taught Sunday School, and served as the church secretary for a time at Brookwood First Baptist in Little Rock. When asked a couple of years ago what her greatest accomplishment or talent was, she replied, "Raising Children." The family would like to thank the staff at Salem Place Nursing and Rehab Center in Conway, where Oma lived for the past 2 years. The employees there loved and cared for our mom like she was a part of their family. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Foundation or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Visitation will be held 1pm, Friday, October 9, 2020 at Pinecrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Friday, October 9, 2020 at Forest Hills Cemetery.
