Helen Avalene Anthony Whitten Reynolds, age 95 of Bearden, beloved mother of Horace Vernon Whitten (deceased), Norman Willis Whitten of Bearden, Ark., David Nelson Whitten of Texarkana, Texas (Susan), and Raymond Dennis Whitten of Texarkana, Texas (Harriet), left this early abode for her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:12 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home at 215 North Plum Street, Bearden, Ark. She was born January 29, 1925 in Hopeville, Ark. She leaves behind a legacy of loving, giving, caring for others, always preferring others over herself, continually lifting up the Name above all names, and modeling in her own life the example set forth by Provers 31 Virtuous woman. Truly a saint. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Flora Anthony, three sisters and four brothers, and is survived by her sister, Velda Rose Anthony Walters of Tulsa, Okla. In lieu of flowers, she requested that all considerations be sent to 1st United Methodist Church in Bearden, Ark. There will be no visitation or viewing. At her request there will be a brief graveside service 10 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 at Bethel Cemetery near Bearden. We will honor those wishes. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
