Mary Rebecca "Gehee" Brogdon, 91, of Lebanon, Mo., formerly of Lake Village, Ark., passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at E.W. Thompson Health & Rehabilitation Center, Sedalia, Mo. She was born November 21, 1928, in Yell County, Ark., a daughter of the late Eugene and Ola (Stewart) McBride. On November 30, 1945, in Little Rock Ark., she was married to Alfred Brogdon, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2003. Gehee was a teller for Simmons Bank in Lake Village, Ark., for many years. She was Baptist by faith and was most recently a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. She was a seamstress and enjoyed smocking, embroidery and cross stitch. She also enjoyed flower gardening and birdwatching. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gehee will be remembered as a kind, happy person and was well loved by everyone that knew her. She is survived by two children, Charles Brogdon (Karen), of Sedalia, and Lynn Brewton, of Pine Bluff, Ark.; four sisters, Bobbie Smith, Pat Lewis, JoAnn Norton and Carolyn Nokes; six grandchildren, Kimberly Breeden (Shane), Christie Prestidge (Jeff) Ashley Denney (Eric), Zac Farley (Karen), Ali Mitchell (Byron), Jennifer Brewton Gray (Thomas); and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Brewton; and a sister, Dorothy Dotson. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Keo Cemetery, Keo, Ark., with Larry Nokes officiating. Pallbearers will be the Great Grand Children. Memorial contributions are suggested (in lieu of flowers) to Lake Village Parks and Recreation Youth Baseball Program C/O City Hall, Lake Village, Ark. 71653. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia, Mo.
