Donald Woodrow Davenport, 80, of Cabot, died Saturday, October 10, 2020. He was born November 25, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late Charlie Woodrow and Florene Sealy Davenport. Don worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years and retired as a General Foreman in the wheel shop. After retirement, he owned and operated a consulting business and worked with companies that manufactured train wheels. Don was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ross Davenport, and a brother, Michael Ray Davenport. Don is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Glynda Frances Gateley Davenport; children, Terry Hudkins (David), Tracy Batts (Michael), Sharon Rodden (Jimmy) and daughter-in-law, Janie Davenport; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as his faithful dog, Harley. Don's family will have a private family service to celebrate his life. Donations in memory of Don can be made to the Lonoke County Animal Education Rescue Team, P.O. Box 844, Carlisle, Ark., 72024.
