On October 23, 2020, Beth Cowgur Crane passed away after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, Beth was born on September 24, 1953 in Bentonville, Ark., to Vernita and George Cowgur of Hiwasse, Ark. She is survived by both of her parents, her husband Tim of 34 years, as well as her son and daughter-in law, Cameron Crane and Angela Kathman, both of Boston, Mass. Beth also is survived by her brother Tim and his wife Anna, of Bentonville, Ark., as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews. Beth was many things. She was a loving daughter and sister to her parents and brother, an adventurous life partner to her husband, and Cameron's devoted mom. It was in the role of mother that might best characterize Beth's life's work. She was very proud of and a catalyst for, Cameron's many achievements. Beth was also a teacher. After earning her Masters degree at the University of Arkansas, Beth taught in the Bentonville public schools for 15 years. She also was part of the original management team for the Walton Life Fitness Center. In those roles, Beth had the privilege to touch, and even change, the lives of many people. Beth rounded out her professional career teaching classes at the Bentonville Community Center and serving as a personal trainer. Beth's teaching and leadership skills are best characterized as both thoroughly professional and caring. Beth treated every person she met with kindness, respect, and dignity. After retiring from full time work, Beth pursued her lifelong passion for art by enrolling in painting classes. Beth will be missed. We are fortunate she shared so much of herself with so many, in so many ways. Beth made a difference. Our world is a better place due to her presence. Beth also wanted to acknowledge the huge show of love and support she and her family received during her illness. The thoughts, prayers, visits, cards, calls, emails, texts, flowers, casseroles, balloons, and gifts helped tremendously during a difficult time and made her smile. A very special thanks goes to the caring doctors and staff at the Highland Oncology Group and to the Circle of Life Hospice. Per Beth's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Beth believed the best way to remember her, is to for us all to be tolerant and understanding of one another. Beth's favorite charity was the Salvation Army. She made regular contributions and she never passed up a bell ringer's bucket at holiday time. Think of Beth, smile, and maybe pet a dog, that's what she would want. Due to consideration of the current pandemic, there will be a celebration of Beth's life at a date to be announced. To sign the online guest book please visit www.stockdalemoody.com.
