On Sunday, October 18, 2020, Harold Ray Vowell, devoted husband, father, and papaw passed away at the age of 85. Harold was born August 7, 1935 in Lake City, Ark., to Clyde and Sylvia Vowell. Harold was married to Betty for 58 years and had two children, Kelly Vowell Johnson married to Mitchell Johnson and Andy Vowell married to Lana Vowell all of Springdale. He was most proud of his grandchildren Laci Vowell, Dallas Johnson, Logan Vowell and Morgan Johnson. Harold proudly served in the Korean War alongside his brother, Dallas Vowell, who died at war. After returning, he began his career as a tool and die maker and then was employed by Boeing as a manufacturing engineer for 10 years. He then moved to Springdale in 1969 and was the president and owner of Harvo Built Homes. Many knew him through those years as "Harvo" as he developed subdivisions and built many homes in Northwest Arkansas. You could find him most mornings at one of the local coffee shops where he loved meeting with friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his wife Betty, his children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, along with many friends. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
