Mada Lee Edwards Vaughan, born January 24, 1934, went home to Jesus on October 24, 2020. A long-time resident of North Little Rock, and more recently of Bee Branch and Cabot, she was the daughter of Lamon and Elza Edwards. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrell P. Vaughan, one daughter, Teressa Lorraine Vaughan, two brothers, Bill Edwards and C.W. Edwards, and her beloved brother-in-law Jim Hiland. Tragically having lost her husband and the love of her life when she was just 29 years-old, Mada raised her two surviving children Sherry Vaughan Davidson and Douglas Vaughan on her own. Family was her greatest joy and "MiMi" will be greatly missed by daughter-in-law Sheila Vaughan, grandchildren John Davidson and wife Kristen, Kate Davidson Metzinger and husband Bryan, Tim Vaughan and Casey Vaughan; great-grandchildren Lauren and Brooklyn Davidson, Nichole Vaughan and Elijah and Samuel Metzinger. Also left to cherish memories of her quick wit and contagious laughter are her brother Ted Edwards (Gladys) and her sister Kay Hiland, and sister-in-law Jean Edwards as well as large and loving extended family and many friends. She will be remembered by all who knew her as funny, charming, and a legendary southern cook. Her children are comforted today in belief that when she reached Heaven's gates her beloved husband Jerry was there to take her hand. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, from 4-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 28, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Damascus, Ark., with burial to follow at Blackwell Cemetery, Bee Branch. Roller-Owens Funeral Home will be following guidelines issued by the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet must be practiced and all visitation and funeral attendees must provide and wear their own masks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First Baptist Church, Damascus. The family wishes to thank the staff at StoneBridge Cabot and Cabot Health and Rehab for taking such loving care of our Mimi. Online Guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/owens.
