Betty Lynn Hackney

Bettye Lynn Hager Hackney, 75, of Pine Bluff, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020. She was born September 9, 1944, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Lloyd Sophus Hager and Eugenia Russell Hager. Bettye married the love of her life, James F. Hackney Sr., on August 31, 1962. At the time of her husband's death, they had enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage. Before beginning her family, Bettye was employed as the youngest Sears & Roebuck Division Manager in the company's history. After Sears, she was employed by International Paper Company. Bettye left her career to take care of her three young children. She was a wonderful loving wife and mother, full of adventure, sharing her love of sewing, gardening, fishing, camping and hunting with her family. Bettye fought a courageous battle against Multiple Sclerosis for more than forty years. She was an avid supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Drake (Shannon), James F. Hackney, Jr., and Misty Gaston (Jack); six grandchildren, Jamie Lewis (Deeann), Tyler Lewis, Trey Hackney, Carrie Ballard, John Gaston and Grey Gaston; six great grandchildren, Aleecia Lewis, Zoey Lewis, Heidi Hackney, Holland Ballard, Chesny Lewis and Chandra Lewis; Sisters, Faye Freeman and Peggy Gandy, as well as many other extended family members, friends and fur babies. Due to Covid-19, private family graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery in White Hall, Arkansas.
