Miriam Lee

Miriam Lee, 85, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on September 27, 2020. Miriam is remembered fondly by family and friends for her creativity, artistic talents and her unmatched ability to host and entertain, sharing and passing on her passion for the arts and cooking to her children and grandchildren. Miriam was a fiercely independent woman who forged her own unique path. She was very proud to have earned her Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma University at the age of 48 and went on to own and operate several non-traditionally female companies. She was born December 2, 1934, in London, Arkansas, to the late Grady and Maxine Yow. Miriam was preceded in death by her beloved younger brother, Gary Yow and her husband of 63 years, Herman E. Lee, Jr. Miriam is survived by her children, Douglas Lee (Jan) of Batesville, Arkansas, and Rhomie King (David) of Conway, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Reba Yow of Heber Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Caitlin Thrash (Ben) and Ethan King (Casey); and great-granddaughter, Adeline Thrash all of Conway, Arkansas. Miriam will be laid to rest beside her loving husband at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas, on Friday, October 2, 2020, at 2:00PM following a graveside service. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
