Richard "Dickie" Neil Workman, 74, of Pine Bluff passed from this life Monday, March 29. He was born October 11, 1946 in Elkins, W.Va., to Edith and Don Workman. A graduate of Plum Bayou High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello (formerly Arkansas A&M), Dickie was drafted into the Army, where he served a tour in Vietnam. After returning home, he started a career in the agriculture industry that spanned more than 50 years. Here, he built many lasting relationships while volunteering his time and expertise on numerous boards and committees. He married his high school sweetheart, Kay Webb Workman, on January 2, 1969. The two shared 52 years of love and memories, going out of their way to bring kindness to others. The couple's children and grandchildren were the apple of Dickie's eye, and his love was evident as he was always eager to recount the highlights of their latest visits, recitals, and ball games in any conversation. Above all, Dickie was an active and beloved member of the Highway 79 Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Busick. He is survived by his wife and two children, Kristi Pitts (Tony) of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Richie Workman (Grace) of Germantown, Tenn.; four grandchildren (Trace Pitts, Ella Pitts, Ellen Claire Workman, and Will Workman); and a host of extended family and loved ones. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Roller England Funeral Home. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Mulberry Cemetery. The family asked that memorials be made to the Hwy. 79 Church of Christ, 4341 Camden Rd., Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines.
