John W Atkins

John W. "Jack" Atkins, CMSgt Retired. On April 4, 2021, Jack went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife Helen who preceded him in death on August 3, 2004. Jack was born in Roxborough, Pa., on June 24, 1928. He is survived by his son, Warren (Barbara), two daughters, Pamela Atkins and Debra Stutts (Scott), a granddaughter, Heather Elliott (Marcus), grandson, Grant Stutts, and great-granddaughter, Callie McKim. He entered the Air Force shortly after his high school graduation and served 22 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. During his service, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal on two occasions. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies. He loved golf and bowling. He was a past president and life member of the Central Arkansas Bowling Association, the Arkansas State Bowling Association and the Southern Bowling Congress. He served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Central Arkansas Bowling Association for 19 years. In recognition of his service, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of all three organizations. Jack was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder for many years. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 N, Alexander, Ark., 72002. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
