Barbara Jean Crockett

Barbara Jean Crockett, 83, life long resident of Little Rock, died April 16, 2021. She was born to Lorey Thomas King and Olive W. King on September 26, 1937. Barbara was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School class of 1955. She never missed a reunion! Following graduation, she worked for International Harvester. After she got married in 1961, she worked for Dorothy Meyer General Agency and at the Insurance Center for many years. When most people her age were retiring, she started working with her Son at the Crockett Law firm in 1995 where she worked until retirement at 80 years old. Barbara was widowed at the age of 45, but continued to single handedly raise three children, emphasizing education and sacrificed until all earned college degrees and one a law degree. Barbara was always surrounded by her family and great friends. She loved her nephews and cousins dearly and kept those relationships close. In her last years she treasured her group of friends at the LaVilla Mexican restaurant. She lived for her children and their families and never missed a grandchild's sporting event. She helped raise all of her children's close friends and has a special place in their heart. Barbara is survived by her children; Michael Alfred Crockett (Holly) of Little Rock, Lori Jean Apel (Jim) of Alexander, Ronald Timothy Crockett (Justin) of Atlanta, Ga, four grandchildren; Aubrey Crockett, Michael A. Crockett, Jr., Hunter Apel and Cameron Apel and her loving nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Alfred Flynn Crockett, her parents and brothers, Ed King and Jimmy King. Special thank you to Favor Homecare for their nurturing love and care. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 18301 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forrest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, Ark. All attendees must wear masks.
