Betty Pearson Moore, of Little Rock, Ark., passed from this life on Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was born in Brookhaven, Miss., October 14, 1928, to the late Katie Corinne McBride Pearson and Hester Pearson. She is also preceded in death by her late husband, James H. Moore of 22 years. Betty was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Little Rock. She was a graduate of Little Rock High School in 1946 and attended Little Rock Junior College where she became a member of the Delta Chi Sigma. After 34 years of employment in state government she retired to become an avid traveler. Betty loved to travel and spend time with family and friends, but her passion was in volunteering. She was known all around by many for her services. She volunteered with the La Moderne Club, The Robinson Auditorium, AARP, The Arkansas Symphony, March of Dimes, St. Vincent, UAMS and many others. She also served on several committees and boards she volunteered with. She is survived by her son, George (Debi) Morton of Clinton, Ark., sister, Jo Hagan of Bryan, Texas, three grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to UAMS or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
