Carolyn Joyce Dodds

Carolyn Joyce Dodds, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed from this life into her eternal life on August 1, 2021, at the age of 90. Born August 20, 1930 in Pine Bluff, Ark., Carolyn was the daughter of the late Veid Hodges and W.A. Joyce. She was a descendant of the Meroney and Brockman families in Lincoln County. Carolyn graduated in 1948 from Star City High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA), where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau. On June 7, 1950, she married William Bobby Dodds, who was the love of her life for 40 years, until his death in 1990. Carolyn was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years, and a member of the LLL Sunday School Class and the Hospitality Team. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, William Joyce, Jr. Survivors include her son, David Dodds and his wife, Vicki, of Hazen, Ark., and one granddaughter, Allison Pool; and two grandsons, Hudson and Lincoln of Ft.
