James (Jim) Raymond Blaylock

James (Jim) Raymond Blaylock (age 92) of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born in Tulsa, Okla. He is preceded in death by his parents, James M. Blaylock and Mary (Butcher) Blaylock; his sons, Michael Blaylock and Stan Blaylock; three brothers, Dick Blaylock, Bob Blaylock, and Bill Blaylock. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Agnes (Halter) Blaylock, of Hot Springs, his children, Mary Jac Blaylock of Maumelle, Jamie Goodwin (Dean) of North Little Rock, Terry Blaylock (Anne Marie) of Hot Springs, Chris Blaylock of Maumelle, and Trish Birch (Bob) of North Little Rock; stepchildren, Marilyn Sanders of Hot Springs, Danny Peitz (Sandy) of Hot Springs, Eddie Peitz (Lisa) of Wantahn, N.Y, Alan Peitz (Angie) of Ozark, Mo., Tony Peitz of Little Rock. He is also survived by his brother, John Blaylock (Gloria) of Port O'Connor, Texas; sister-in-law, Frankie Blaylock; sister, Martha Kay Rossington of Boerne, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hot Springs. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Little Rock for several years. He carried the chains for Catholic High School football games for over 40 years. He was a graduate of Catholic High School, class of 1946. Jim was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback fan. He was head football and basketball coach at St. Edwards and St. Theresa Catholic Schools in Little Rock. He also coached a number of years in Teeny League, Little League and Pony League baseball at Lamar Porter Field, Geyer Springs Ball Park and Little Oaks. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir and had the honor of being one of the Chosin Few. Jim worked for Little Rock Distributing, now Glazer's Beer & Beverage in Little Rock for over 40 years. Memorial service will be Friday, August 27th, at 10:00 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, Ark., with military honors.
