Alma Jean Prince

Alma "Jean" Shuffield Prince, 94, passed to her heavenly reward August 25, 2021. Born to the late Herman and Era Thomas Shuffield on July 12, 1927 in Bismarck, Ark., she was the star 3-point shooter for the Bismarck girls basketball team - at only 4'11". Jean graduated from Draughon School of Business before starting her career in personnel management (HRM) and retail sales. She retired from Dillardss department stores after many years of service. Jean met the love of her life, Jesse Prince, on a double date set up by his sister, Mildred. Jean and Jesse were married October 12, 1946. For nearly 73 years they shared their love with family, friends, and all those they came in contact with. Jean is survived by son, Stanley, and daughter-in-law, Dorcas Prince; her older sister, Novella Hardage; as well as, four generations of nieces and nephews. Jean knew life is a journey and not a destination, so she lived and loved every moment. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark.
