Sara Wright Crisp

Sara Wright Crisp was born in Batesville, Ark., on March 24, 1931 to Hugh and May (Evans) Wright, and passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Ark., on August 25, 2021, at the age of 90. Sara married William (Billy) R. Crisp on June, 18 1952, at her family home in Batesville. They lived for a short time in Marianna, Ark., before moving to Marvell, Ark., were they lived happily for many years until finally moving to Little Rock to be closer to family. During their time in Marvell, Sara and Billy raised two sons and owned a successful candy distribution company. Sara and Billy were married for 62 years before his passing in March 2013. Sara worked as an editor for the Marvell newspaper and was a substitute teacher for the elementary school. She was very active with her church and in the community. She was also an avid gardener and walker. Sara loved to reminisce about her family and growing up in Batesville. A favorite pastime was clipping newspaper articles from her home town, Marvell, and surrounding areas to keep the family up to date on the all the events and happenings. Sara was a fantastic cook and loved making large meals from recipes handed down from her mother and grandmother and serving them in vintage dishware as well. There was always a family story to go with the meal. Sara may have come from a small town but she loved fashion and always had just the right outfit for every occasion. A beautiful lady inside and out. Those that are left to mourn the loss of this wonderful woman are her two sons, William R. Crisp Jr., and wife Sandra of Helotes, Texas, and Hugh Edward Crisp of Little Rock, Ark.; one beloved granddaughter, Christina Fitzgerald and husband, Scott; two great-grandchildren, Paisley (12) and Pauly (11); and her niece, Libby Taylor and husband, Randy. Sara is preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy Crisp; her two sisters, JoAnn Watson and Jackie Wright; along with all her family and friends that have gone before her. It was Sara's wish to be cremated. There will be no funeral or memorial service. Immediate family members will gather in private to celebrate her life.
