Martha Sue Newsom Smith

Martha Sue (Newsom) Smith, 70, of Batesville, passed away November 29, 2021. She was born June 25, 1951, in Batesville, to William Boyd Newsom and Tommie Imogene (Willmuth) Newsom. She was a 1969 Graduate of Batesville High School. Martha was of the Episcopal faith. Survivors include her husband, Michael Lee Smith of the home; one daughter, Jamie Diane Bridgers (Andrew) of Batesville; one brother-in-law, James Allen Smith (Elizabeth); two grandchildren, Owen Boyd Bridgers and Sophia Francis Bridgers; and nine cousins, Rocky Willmuth (Diane), Steve Bearden, Melissa Sammons, Cindy Benedict Allen, Mandy Willmuth Farquhar, Susan Wise Simmons, Suzanne Hamilton, Biff Vinson, and Joy Tedford. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 2255, Batesville, Ark., 72503.
