Ruth Henderson Henry died November 23, 2021. She was born January 11, 1926, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to the late William E. Henderson and Carrie Elta Blackerby Henderson. She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High Class of 1943, and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1982. Ruth was a member of Forrest Park Baptist Church, Aletheia Club, and DAR while in Pine Bluff. In 2013, she moved to Rogers, Ark., where she was a member of First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny G. Henry, whom she married on January 4, 1947; a brother, Joe Boyd Henderson; and six sisters: Rose Strayer, Shirley Waymack, Elta Reynolds, Kittie Durham, Mary Jane Grant, and Mertie Long. Ruth is survived by one daughter: Nancy Henry Jones of Rogers, Ark.; and by one son: Don K. Henry of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren: Jennifer Ruth Jones of Los Angeles, Calif., Jordin Henry Jones of Rogers, Ark., Seth Henry of Hot Springs, Ark., Josh Henry of Hot Springs, Ark., and Lauren Henry of Bentonville, Ark. Ruth, or Mimi, as she was adoringly called, loved people, traveling, reading, laughing and dancing. She was known for her infectious laughter, positive attitude, and signature chicken and dumplings. Visitation was 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors, with graveside services at 3 p.m. at White Hall United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas, or First Christian Church of Rogers, Ark.
