William "Bill" Bohannon

William "Bill" Bohannon, 79, of Rogers, passed away December 23, 2021, at the Veterans' Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born November 14, 1942, in Deer, Ark., the eldest son of William Ira and Velma Eileen Cowell Bohannon. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era, was wounded in Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart. He was the Plant Engineer at Smurfit Stone Container for 42 years before his retirement in 2009. He was a member of Tired Iron of the Ozarks, and an avid hunter, fisherman, craftsman, and loved to travel and listen to bluegrass music. Bill served as an Elder at Southside Church of Christ for over 40 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine Bohannon, of the home; his children, Susan Daniels and Joey Bohannon of Rogers, and their spouses, Mike Daniels and Missy Bohannon, respectively; his bothers, Harl, Harvey, Jerry, Jim, Gene, Roger, and Johnny Bohannon; his sisters, Sharon Moore, Betty Dickard, Mary Daniel, and Kathy Hindman; grandchildren Ashleigh Bohannon, Alycia Murphy, Makenna Bohannon, Kat Snipes, and Bailey Bohannon; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Eli, and Theo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Southside Church of Christ. Interment in the Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be Monday, December 27, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St, Rogers.
