Robert "Bob" Sisson

Photo of Robert "Bob" Sisson
Robert "Bob" Leander Sisson 80 of North Little Rock passed February 1, 2021, after a long hard-fought battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Bob was born December 20, 1940, a true gift to the ladies, because he never met a lady who didn't love him. Even near the end, as his female nurses came in and out, he replied "all the good-looking women just flock to me", with a cheeky grin. Unfortunately for them, he only had eyes for his one true love, Connie. The love at first sight was on his part, she took a little convincing but he finally made her his bride in 1965. For 56 years they have worked, loved and laughed hard, life and health have not always been easy but with Connie's laugh and Bob's gentle smile they showed the world how Love can get you through anything. Bob leaves behind his beloved Connie; their two children, daughter Robin and son Alan (Debbi). He also leaves behind his pride and joy, Robin's daughter, Kailey. As Bob would always say, "BK" (Before Kailey) he loved fishing, hunting with Robin, and walking on his tree farm. "AK" (after Kailey) he enjoyed doing anything that made her happy, from yearly Disney World trips while forced to wear a Goofy hat, traveling to dance competitions and learning to rhinestone costumes, many Branson trips, the list goes on and on, he truly moved Heaven and earth to see her smile. Poppy was the name he most cherished, she was his greatest joy and with a grin he'd say "lucky for her she got his good looks and charm". He also leaves behind two scoundrel brothers, Dale (Lawanna) Sisson and Carroll Sisson of Des Arc; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bob is meeting in Heaven his parents, Bluford and Jesse Mae Sisson, and his brothers, Frank, Lester, and Billy Jo Sisson. They'll probably meet him at the gate telling him they have an epic fishing trip and fish fry planned. We all know Bob will catch the biggest fish! Bob was a CPA and spent 34 years as the Finance Director for the city of NLR, where he irritated many by telling them his favorite word when they asked for something, "no." Regardless of this, we his family have often been told, they never got told No so many times and yet they still truly liked the man. He was a Master Mason who had received his 50-year pin, a sniper in the National Guard, and, of course, a faithful napper. Many a day since his retirement have been devoted to such a worthwhile endeavor as well as watching his favorite westerns. Bob was also a devoted Christian and member of the Levy United Methodist Church for 45 years. This story of Bob wouldn't be complete without mentioning another special lady that he shared not just a birthday with but a kidney. His older brother, Lester, and his wife, Jean, gifted my father with a niece, Deborah Jean Sisson, on his birthday many years ago. Twenty-two years ago, two days before their shared birthday, Deborah, made a gift that changed all of our lives forever. Selflessly donating a kidney, her actions gave us many years that we wouldn't have had, and gave him the opportunity to become the Poppy he loved being. Even though Dad has left us, the stories he told and his legend will endure. Till we meet again, Poppy, we love you. Online guestbook www.SmithFamilyCares.com
