PHILLIPS RALPH CRAIG, 85, Little Rock, passed February 8, 2021, after his battle with dementia. Born August 23, 1935, in Batesville, Ark., Phillips was the oldest of six children of Ralph and Florence Craig. Phillips joined the Navy, after graduating from Bauxite High School. He married Annette Wright of Benton in 1958. They had five children. Phillips operated a Mobil station until recruited by American Airlines in 1968. He retired in 1995. Retirement time included seeing grandchildren, traveling, volunteering, Bauxite reunion events, and working his garden. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lytle Craig; sisters, Barbara Jo James and Judy McClendon; and wife, Annette. He is survived by his brother, Scotty Craig; sister, Beth (Roy) Hollowoa; his sons, Jeffrey, Jay, David (Beth); and daughters, Susan Knight (George), and Kim Simpson (Shannon); and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be private. Phillips will be laid to rest at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to Pleasant Valley Church Food Bank or Bauxite Historical Association Museum in his honor. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
