Betty June Swope

Betty June Swope, age 90, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed from this life Friday, February 8, 2021. She was born September 25, 1930, in Bethany, Mo., a daughter of the late Harvey O. Swope and Emily Byrd Swope. Betty was retired from the University of Arkansas. She served her entire career, which was forty-two years, as the secretary to the President of the Agriculture Department. After retirement, she attended the University of Arkansas earning a degree as a master gardener. Survivors are one daughter, Deanna J. Showalter, and a granddaughter, Victoria D.S. Hollinger. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to, Susan G.
