James "Jim" Harvey Bearden

JAMES "JIM" HARVEY BEARDEN, 81, passed away on February 18, 2021, at his son's home in Little Rock. James was born on November 20, 1939, at the "Y" Community near Rison, a son of the late Harvey Bearden and Nellie Green Bearden. He was a retired warehouseman and entrepreneur, having owned a VHS movie rental business and an appliance shop in the 1970s. James was a great shuffleboard player and frequent tournament champion during the many years he lived in Memphis, Tenn. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Olen and Billy; sister, Loda Vee Nickleson; grandchildren, B.J. Poole and Samantha Poole; and two spouses, Josephine Bearden, who died in 2016, and Suzanne Carruth Bearden, who died in 1995. James is survived by his sons, Nathan (Terry) and Anthony (Amy); grandchildren, Jake and Alyssa; great-granddaughter, Karmyn; nieces, Kay (Charles) Bates and Tonya Kimbrell; and his beloved pups, Rowdy and Missy. Graveside services will be held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Highway 63, Woodlawn, Cleveland County, on Tuesday, February 23, at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
