Mary Sybil Adams

Mary Sybil Adams, 70, of Sherwood, passed from this life on February 22, 2021. She was born May 26, 1950, in North Little Rock, Ark., to the late Jewell Stewart. At an early age, Jewell passed away and Mary was adopted by the late Hap and Dorothy Risselada who raised and loved her as their very own. Sybil was a member of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society of Heber Springs. She loved watching sports, especially when it involved her grandchildren. Sybil never met a stranger, she could talk to anyone, anytime any where. She possessed a gentle way of putting others at ease. All who were privileged to know her will always remember Sybil as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her mother and adopted parents, her husband, Bill Adams preceded her in death. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Belin of Sherwood; ex-husband and dear friend, John Burks of Sherwood; grandchildren, Hunter and Haley Belin both of Sherwood; sisters, Cathy Wilcox and Charlotte Dumboski both of North Little Rock. Other survivors include sister-in-laws, Sharon Adams of Heber Springs and Audrey Burks of Sherwood, along with many other cousins, family and friends. At Sybil's request memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to Sybil's Blessing Box at Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church, 9921 Arkansas Highway 107, Sherwood, Ark., 72120. This ministry was near and dear to her heart, especially in times such as these.
