Mary Sue Jones

Mary Sue Jones, 87 of Springdale went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Springdale. She was born August 15, 1933 in Clarksville, Ark., to Colby Allen and Hallie Tabitha Tipton Garrett. Sue was a former member of Temple Baptist Church and First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and currently a member of Berry Street Baptist Church. They were very supportive of mission work. She was a "soul winner" and prayer warrior, praying for her family by name every day. She was a lifelong organist, pianist and Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hubert Gerald Jones; two brothers, Calvin (Frog) Garrett and Fred Allen Garrett and one great-grandson, Isaac Ree. Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Bob) Pate, and Liz (Jim) Moore; seven grandchildren: Amanda (Steven) Lykins, Melissa (Seth) Ree, Jared (Mallory) Pate, Jessica (Tyler) Friedel, Ryan (Cassandra) Moore, Lauren (Mitch) Smothers and Madison Moore; seven great-grandchildren: Lynden, Nora and Cole Lykins, Griffin and Harrison Ree, Ellie and Brooklyn Smothers, and two sisters-in-law, Belle Garrett and Wilma (Barbee) Howard both of Springdale and several nieces and nephews. She and her late husband, Hubert of 46 years, owned and operated Jones Tire and Auto Center in Springdale for 50 years. She and Hubert were model Christians who were loving parents and grandparents. Their example of faith leaves a legacy for family and friends to follow for generations to come. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Rev. Richard Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff Cemetery. Services will be live streamed via the Sisco Funeral Chapel facebook page.
