Donna Kay Cullum, 52, of Benton passed away on December 31, 2020. She was born on February 13, 1968, in Little Rock. She attended private Christian elementary and junior high schools in Little Rock, eventually graduating from Parkview High School with honors in 1985. She served in the United States Army and was later honorably discharged for non-combat injuries. In April of 1990, Donna graduated from the police academy. She worked with the Sherwood Police Dept. and the North Little Rock Police Dept. where she served on the SWAT team receiving accolades for her marksmanship. In 1999 she graduated from UALR with Bachelor's Degrees in Creative Writing and Criminal Justice. She moved to Boston, Mass., and attended Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. where she studied Feminist Liberation Studies. She later moved back to Arkansas where she pursued a career with the Veterans Administration. She participated in sports and personal training, staying highly active for most of her life in health and fitness. She held a second-degree black belt in taekwondo karate. Donna was preceded in death by her loving father, Phillip Lloyd Cullum; grandparents, Roy and June Cullum of North Little Rock, Louise Richards (Dan) of Little Rock, and Orville Chambers of Benton. Left to cherish her memory are Deann Rivera, her life partner; mother, Barbara Ann Cullum; twin sisters, Cindy Allwine and Candy Thurman; brothers, Chris Cullum and Keith Cullum (Kathy); nieces, T.J. Thurman, Sophie Allwine and Drew Isabella Spurgeon, Gabby and Lily Cullum, Nephews, Aaron Millirons (Emily), Dillon Allwine, Joseph Thurman, William (Cup) Bristow III, and Frank Ginn. In addition, Donna had many other cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws who adored her. Her love for the world's furry, four-legged creatures was immeasurable. She made numerous and very generous contributions to many animal rights and humane organizations, both locally and nationally. She is greatly missed by "Lila" and "Bailey". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local humane society or the ASPCA in Donna's memory. The memorial will be entrusted to Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy. 5, Bryant, Ark. 72022.
