Joyce Lea Pruitt

Joyce Lea Pruitt, age 79, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2021. Joyce was born on April 18, 1941, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the only daughter of Frank and Neoma Shell of Gravette. Joyce worked for Peterson Industries for many years as a lab technician. She enjoyed her time with friends, antiquing, searching for a bargain, cooking, but mostly spending time and talking about her grandkids and greats. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years, Jim Pruitt, and her daughter, Cindy Rankin and brothers Larry and Wayne Shell. Joyce is survived by her husband of 15 years, Ray Hook, of the home, her daughter, Carla Martinez, and husband, Orlando, of Gravette and son-in-law, James Rankin, of Gravette; stepsons Ricky Hook and Royce Hook of Decatur. Her true joy was her grandchildren, Nikki Taylor (Shane) of Gravette, James "Bubba" Garland of Cave Springs, Justin Martinez (Miranda) of Gravette, Ryan Garland (Brittany) of Gravette and Bristol Hook of Decatur. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Cody Taylor of Deltona, Fla., Briley Taylor, Corby Pruitt Taylor and Case Orlando Martinez of Gravette. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 8, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel.
