Doris Louise Robinson

Doris Louise Robinson, 91, of Rison, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. She was born February 21, 1929, in England, Ark., to the late Perry Walton and Myrtle Annie Benefield Wood. Louise spent her life taking care of people. First, she raised four boys, then took care of her friends and her church family including serving at vacation bible school. Louise babysat lots of children in Woodlawn, and she was known by everyone as "Granny". She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working in the yard, and was an avid sports spectator. Louise was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Charles Boyd Robinson; two sons, Charles David Robinson and Harold Arlin Robinson; and she was the last of the group of ten siblings. Louise is survived by two sons, Kenny Robinson (Sandra) and Bruce Robinson (Tina); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Guy Burton "Buddy" Rowland (Barbara). The family would also like to give thanks to her friends that helped to take care of her in her last months, Diane and Laverne Wood. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Service. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m., until service time Thursday.
