Raymond Henry Curry, 86, of Sherwood, died Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born September 28, 1934, in the Rye Community of Cleveland County, Arkansas, to the late John Ray and Bessie Mae (Brown) Curry. Raymond served in the US Air Force for 26 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed working in the garden, hunting, and rocking his companion dog, Princess. Many family members will recall Raymond's favorite saying, "Grandma Brown would say make the best of it, that's all a mule can do". Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Melba L. (Posey) Curry; son, Raymond E. Curry; brothers, Billy Ray, Roy, Jimmy and Thomas; and his sisters, Sue Offutt and Geneva Curry. Raymond is survived by his children, Deborah and Phillip Sperling of Lawton, Oklahoma, Michael and Deborah Curry of Kingsland, Belinda and Wayne Burris of Little Rock, Corrin Curry of the United Kingdom, and Richard and Melanie Curry of Grovetown, Georgia; sister, Verla Smith of Springfield, Missouri; sister-in-law, Shirley Rogers of Monticello; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
