Arthur "Art" Brown, age 79, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born at Elsberry, Mo., on December 17, 1941. He attended White Hall High School before joining the Air Force in 1960, serving five years. In 1966, Art joined the Pine Bluff Police Department and retired as a detective in 1986. Art worked for the Department of Defense as a security guard at the Pine Bluff Arsenal from 1986 to 2002, before his second retirement. Art has written 147 short stories and was a published author and published photographer. As a young boy, Art enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors, this continued throughout his life. So many memories of these activities with family, co-workers and friends which includes canoeing and backpacking. Art enjoyed talking about these adventures including killing a moose in Alaska with his pistol while stationed there in the Air Force. Art is survived by his sister, Penni Robinson of Warminster, Pa.; brother, Bobby Brown (Donna) of Conway, Ark.; stepchildren, Joy Wells (Andy) of Rison, Ark., and Billy Holmes of Homer, La. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur H. Brown and Florence Brown; wife, Inez Holmes Brown. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Roselawn Cemetery, Highway 63 South. All Covid-19 guidelines will apply, including mask wearing.
