Maxine Estes Kirk

MAXINE ESTES KIRK, 103, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on January 20, 2021. Born in Little Rock, Ark in 1917, Maxine was the daughter of the late Lillie and Oscar Walden. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Van Pelt and son Lewis E. (Buddy) Kirk Jr. and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband of 68 years, Lewis E. (Eddie) Kirk. Maxine and Eddie were avid Square Dancers and members of the Square Rounders Dance Club. Eddie was one of the primary dance callers and Maxine would spend countless hours designing and making their custom dance outfits for the events. Maxine and Eddie spent their retirement years traveling around the world and exploring the family history from Europe. They also spent many winter months with their RV club traveling down south to enjoy the warmer weather. Maxine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed hosting family and holiday events at her house. She loved to cook and was passionate about preparing full course meals for everyone to enjoy. Family and friends are invited to the Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock, Ark., 72204 for the visitation on Thursday, 28 January 2021 from 12:30-:30 p.m. The family will have a private graveside service immediately after the visitation.
