Willie Sparks, Jr., 91, of Little Rock, passed away January 21, 2021. He was the oldest son of Willie Sparks, Sr. and Vivian Ringo Sparks Stewart of Little Rock. A 1948 graduate of Little Rock Dunbar High School, he was a retired First Sergeant in the US Army, professional musician, and retired employee of Entergy-Arkansas. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Willie Sparks, III of Oakland, Calif.; brother, Samuel Sparks of Cotton Plant, Ark.; and sister, Noveta Renee Sparks Watkins of Avondale Estates, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Marion Lewis Sparks; son, Theodore Sparks of Oakland, Calif.; brother, Theodore Sparks of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Floyd Sparks of Little Rock; brother, William Charles Sparks of Little Rock, brother, Antonio Sparks of San Francisco, Calif.; stepsister, Gloria Brown Finney of Fremont, Calif. Memorial services will be held at Bethel AME Church, 600 Cedar Street, North Little Rock, 11 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2021. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Arkansas American Cancer Society, in memory of Willie Sparks, Jr. at, 2222 Cottondale Ln #310, Little Rock, Ark., 72202. COVID-19 protocol with masks and social distancing will be required. There will be a limit of 50 people in the sanctuary. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S. Battery St., Little Rock, Arkansas, 72202.
