Alma Nell Criswell, 91, of Barling, Ark., formerly of Springdale, Ark., went to be with the Lord June 30, 2021. She was born March 3, 1930, in Spur, Texas, the daughter of the late William and Alice Jones Smith. She was a member of Berry Street Baptist Church, and was retired from Montgomery Ward, where she had worked as a sales clerk.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and had recently become very good at painting pictures. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and taught an adult Bible class after moving to Barling. She was a devoted preacher's wife for many years, a loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to many people.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by one sister; three brothers; and her husband, James Criswell, in 2011.
She is survived by one son, James Michael Criswell, and his wife, Debbie, of Tulia, Texas; two daughters, Paula Kay Ayers and her husband, Roger, of Fort Smith, Ark., and Ronda Dian Hutchins and her husband, Scott, of Hot Springs, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside service will be Monday, July 12, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Jason Walters officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Ark. 72762.
