Bobby Joe Walthall

Bobby Joe Walthall, 85, of Chidester, Ark., passed away July 5, 2021. He was born March 24, 1936, in Chidester, Ark., to the late Coy E. and Clara B. Walthall. Bobby was a retired insurance agent and a member of Chidester Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Walthall; a daughter-in-law, Joy Walthall; two sisters, Mary Walthall Lampkin and Sue Walthall Hurley, and his best friend and brother-in-law, SCM Charles L. Watkins. Bobby is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Watkins Walthall; daughter, Tami Montgomery of Arkadelphia, Ark.; three sisters, Lula Bell Hollis (Jimmy) of Camden, Ark., Priscilla Emerson (Floyd) of Hot Springs, Ark., and Ann Holt of Mt. Holly, Ark.; four grandchildren, Kati Blanchard (Vance) of El Dorado, Ark., Matt Montgomery of Arkadelphia, Ark., Will Walthall (Grace) of El Dorado, Ark., and Lauren Taylor (Ryan) of Gurdon, Ark.; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family sends a special thanks to Dr. Johnathan Lewis and all the hospice nurses and personnel. A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Chidester Baptist Church with Ken Key and David Collins officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 at the church. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
