Roy Lesley "Squeaky" Lamb of Sheridan, Ark., was born April 11, 1954, at Kennitt, Mo., the son of the late William Robert and Grace Welch Lamb. He was first and foremost a family man. He adored them, and spent much of his time sharing laughter and making memories with them. His other passion was obvious by one of his nicknames…"Coach". He loved his players, and still maintained relationships with many of them to this day. He officially retired in 2017, but he never slowed down. He was definitely not a "rocking chair" retiree. He was a "not enough hours in the day" type of guy. In addition to coaching, he taught social studies, health, and driver's education. In his early years, he graduated from Armorel High School in Blytheville, Ark., in 1972. He went on to be an ASU Indian and graduated in 1977. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, and was attending Immanuel Baptist Church. Roy loved to play golf, and give his buddies unsolicited golfing "tips" as he saw necessary. He enjoyed coaching his granddaughter's pee-wee basketball team, and as hard as it was for him to not coach, he even managed to just watch some of their sports activities on the sidelines. In his spare time, when he wasn't doing any of the things already mentioned, he even managed to squeeze in some time to play the slot machines. Roy was an avid runner, and was even training for a marathon. Lesley was a true "Daddy's girl" and they shared a great love for each other. Mr. Lamb died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, in Sheridan, at the age of 67, the result of an accident while enjoying one of his passions, running. Survivors include his wife and best friend for 25 years, Diane Threlkeld Lamb of Sheridan; daughters, Lesley Lamb and Erin (Doug) Sterritt, all of Sheridan; siblings, Robbie Gallager, Rebecca Wise, Ronald Lamb, Robert Lamb, Rhonda Enos, William Lamb, Mary Stallings. He was the proudest "Poppi" in the world to his grandchildren, Payton, Sadie, Skylar, and Scarlett and numerous nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his dogs, Tucker and Baylee have to be included along with the survivors, as well as his favorite deceased cat, Wilson. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan (206 East Holly St.) with Bro. Gary Copeland officiating. Visitation is prior to the service from 10-12 p.m. Arrangements by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan (870) 942-1306
