Alvie E. Ward

Plumerville, AR, 1934 - 2021

Alvie E. Ward, age 87, of Plumerville, Ark., died Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was born March 1, 1934, in New Nada, Ark., the son of the late Eunice and Reaney Ward. Alvie was the widower of Paula Ann Murdoch Ward after 49 years of marriage, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and he served in the Army National Guard for 24 years. He was a career life insurance salesman of 45 years and a volunteer Morrilton fireman for over 25 years
He is survived by his four daughters, Angela (Jerry) Austin of Morrilton, Denise (Rodney) Rash of Hot Springs, Melissa (Buster) Lear of Greenbrier, and Charity Hawkins of Conway; son, Robin (Jon Richardson) Ward of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his special four-legged companion "Miley", as well as a host of family and friends. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Elmwood Cemetery with Bro. Sonny Harvison officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton or Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Johnny Balch, John Eddy, Ray Fullerton, Johnny Henson, Jan Murphy, and David Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Koch, Hunter Rash, Jason Rash, Josh Rash, Chase Lear, Jaylan Hawkins, Brad Ward, and the members of the Morrilton Fire Department.
