It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Jill Scobey Hartsfield announce her death July 7, 2021. Jill was born on November 21, 1974, to Kelly and Rheba Scobey of Rector, Ark., where she grew up surrounded by a community who loved and supported her. She graduated from Rector High School in 1993, earned her BA from the University of Arkansas in 1997 and MBA from Maryville University in 2021. Jill was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, served on countless non-profit committees over the years, including on the board of directors for Junior League of Little Rock as membership Vice President and Arkansas Children's Hospital Auxiliary Achiever program. In addition to her parents, she leaves behind her three children, Grace Anne Hartsfield of Fayetteville, Ark.; Collier Scobey Hartsfield of New York City, and Parker Christopher Hartsfield of Little Rock, Ark.; as well as her former husband, Chris Hartsfield of Little Rock, Ark.; her brother: Kirk Scobey and wife, Carletta, of Corning, Ark.; nephew, Will Scobey; and niece Ella Scobey of Corning, Ark.; and great-niece, Paisley Garver. She is also survived by her aunt, Mary Ann Kingston of Paragould, Ark.; her uncle, Dewayne Gray and wife, Brenda, of Scott City, Mo.; and innumerable friends, who thought of Jill like family. Any story about Jill usually involved food, preferably nachos, some minor shenanigans and laughter that made your sides hurt. She was generous with everything: time, help, jokes, advice, support. Everything except nachos. You could get your own. She was happy to give recommendations. That was thing about Jill. She had been collecting friends since her childhood in Rector, through college and into adulthood. She loved to make recommendations for those too, to connect people with similar interests, all of whom eventually became part of strong network who adored her. But there was no one Jill loved or adored more than her children. Every conversation made its way back to the good food Collier was cooking, the wonderful success of Grace Anne or the latest baseball cards Parker had collected. She spent her time trying to make her community a little better by volunteering untold hours at her children's schools, church, Junior League and other nonprofits. Her bargain barn work remains legendary. Vacation Bible School at PHUMC was more fun because of her. Soccer and baseball moms across the city were organized and ready for game days, thanks to her. If you stood still long enough in her presence, you would, no doubt, end up volunteering for some good cause too. Sometimes she even asked first if you wanted to do it. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church youth program. There will be memorial service at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark., Wednesday July 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jay Clark officiating.
