Mary Joan "Joanne" Andrews, age 87, of Rogers, died Friday, July 23, 2021. She was born January 18, 1934, in Greensburg, Ind., and moved with her mother and three siblings to Arkansas in her teenage years. She had an art of caring for people and managing businesses to perfection. After spending time in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico managing retirement homes, she settled back in Arkansas with her family. She spent 14 years operating AJ Storage in Rogers; retiring at the age of 82. Joan, better known as Grandy, had a larger than life, witty personality and an accepting character that will be missed by all who knew her. She loved her family and friends, and never met a stranger. Her fruitful years of retirement were spent gifting handmade afghans and potholders, cheering on the Arkansas Razorback baseball and basketball teams, exploring the best local places for chips & salsa, and spending time with loved ones. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Bean Davis; her husband, Gene Andrews; her mother, Lois Raines; and her brother, John Lucas. She is survived by her daughter, Janna Gartman and husband, Larry, of Rogers; her sister, Jane Lucas, of Arkadelphia; her brother, Jim Lucas and wife, Jean, of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Jennifer and Berch Schultz of Springdale, Lindi Alexander of Glenwood, Tara and Juan Pablo Marzana of Cave Springs, Beau Graves of Hot Springs, Haley and Andy Petton of Rogers, Samantha Harris of Glenwood, Lucas Gartman of Rogers; great-grandchildren, Garrett Alexander, Lexi Graves, Eli Alexander, Sebastian Marzana, Diego Marzana, Bentley Graves, Noelle Null, Taylor Alexander, Jaycee Davis, Tucker Alexander, Kennedi Alexander, George Schultz, Charlie Schultz, Sophie Petton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Due to the current global pandemic, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Group Living, Inc.
