Roy Specie

Roy Specie, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on June 10, 2021 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born on February 7, 1932 in Moberly, Mo., to Joe and Edith Mitchell Specie. Roy was a Korean War veteran. He worked as a Park Ranger in Florida State Parks. He was a member of Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale. He served for five years in prison ministry and ministries helping the homeless and people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. He loved animals. He enjoyed bird and nature watching. He loved people, and most of all his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Raymond Specie; one daughter, Leeanna Montgomery; brother, Joseph Glenn; and one niece, Sarah Catherine Specie. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Specie of the home; three sons, Robert Lee Wallace of Zephyrhills, Fla., Edward D. Specie of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Wayne L. Specie of Lake Placid, Fla.; one cousin, Verlina Clinton of Moberly, Mo.; one niece, Linda Specie of Moberly, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 9-10a.m., at Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale. Services will be on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10 a.m., at Mercy and Grace Cathedral.
