DENVER G JOHNSON, 84, of Little Rock passed away June 14, 2021. He was born August 12, 1936 in Morgantown, W.V., to Virgil and Ada Johnson. Denver was a loving dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. One of his proudest titles was that of "Pa", he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them most of all. He was born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia. As a kid he was given the nickname "Jiggs" after a cartoon character from the 1940s. Denver could fix anything he took apart and place it back together. He loved history and genealogy and wrote five books of family genealogy. Denver proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a MSgt. He served as a marksman and supervisor of jet engine mechanic squadron. After retiring from the Air Force, he started a second career with the United States Postal Service from which he also retired. Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karrie Johnson; grandson and his wife, Blake and Kristyn Johnson; granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Tyrone Austin Johnson; great- grandchildren: Noah Johnson and Eden Austin Johnson; and brother and his wife, Havard and Lorraine Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Wanda Rae Johnson; parents; son, Stephen Johnson; and sisters: Iris June Johnson and Iva Jean Barber. A celebration of life will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2021 at Pinecrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
