Charles Edward Priest, 76, of Sherwood, passed from this life on March 21, 2021. Jesus knocked on Charles door and told him he needed him to come home. His parents, Harvey Paul Priest and Alega Paulene Priest, along with many aunts and uncles, met him with opened arms. Charles was born in Macon, Georgia, on May 2, 1944. He was a graduate of Little Rock Central, Class of 1962 and a 1967 graduate of Hendrix College. After graduating from college, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly and honorably served his country for the next four years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. His hobbies included hunting, target shooting and the Razorbacks. Left to mourn his passing are the love of his life, his devoted wife of forty-three years, Mary L. (Young) Priest; very special friend, Ross Pyles, and many other friends and extended family. Mary wishes to express her gratitude to the Arkansas State Veterans Home for the genuine love and care shown to Charles during his illness, especially the staff in Cottage Six. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72205.
