Allen Thomas Lawhorne Jr., 78 of Fayetteville passed away on March 11, 2021, at his home. He was born November 11, 1942, in Wilmington, N.C. Al served in the Marines from 1960-1965. He was a talented musician playing guitar in his band in Houston, Texas. He also played in the praise band at Johnson Fellowship. Al attended welding school in Alabama after his band broke up. He used his skill at various places in Alabama and Texas. He moved to Arkansas in 1998. He worked at Clarke Industries (Nilfisk) for 20 years doing maintenance in Rotomold. He worked at Pleasant Grove Walmart in Rogers for five years. He was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church. He was a student of the Bible and believed Jesus was the only way to heaven. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Leonard Harding who raised him; one daughter, Belinda Wilkerson Bennett; and one brother, Billy Harding. Survivors, include his stepmother Jan Harding; his wife, Alice Pinkley Lawhorne whom he married December 15, 1989; two sons, Tommy Lawhorne (Angela) and Matthew Lawhorne (Brenna); two daughters, Kristen Davis (Joey), and Lynette Loffler (Rodney); two stepdaughters, Sara Alley (Leslie) and Abby Houston; one stepson, Drew Moore; two brothers, Leonard Harding and James Harding; one sister, Angie Harding; 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. A celebration service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at New Hope Fellowship at 850 S. Gene George Blvd. in Springdale with Mike Rogers officiating. The family requests casual dress. Al was not a suit and tie guy. Private family interment will be Friday, May 7, at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Cliff Jenkins officiating.
